What is your role at the Lodge at Ashford? My role is Front of House Porter. I have worked at The Lodge for 10 years. What was your background before you worked at the Lodge at Ashford? I was working in construction as a carpenter. What was your first experience of the Lodge at Ashford? I was playing a round of golf on the Ashford Estate with friends, we went over to The Lodge to have lunch and were given a wonderful tour of the hotel by a member of staff. Tell me something about the Lodge people might not know?We have our own private beach out the front of the hotel at the bottom of the lower field! What makes the Lodge special? It is like a second family; I have made a lot of very good friends. What does your typical day at the Lodge look like for you? Every day is a different day, no day is the same which makes it exciting. What is your favourite part of your role? Making guests feel welcome and telling them all about the history of the estate and what the estate has to offer such as the activities etc. What do you do to relax when you are not working? I like to go fishing when the weather permits, I also like to go for walks around the grounds of Ashford. What three words would you use to describe the Lodge? Friendly, homely, and warm. What is the proudest achievement of your time at the Lodge? I was very proud to have won employee of the year in 2019.
