Frequently asked questions
Here is a selection of some frequently asked questions about The Lodge for your convenience. Please contact us if you have any further queries.
As is common practice within the hotel industry, guests are required to present a valid credit or debit card upon arrival to the hotel. This will be used for a pre-authorisation or charge to cover accommodation (if not already pre-paid) and any incidental extras during your stay. A temporary pre-authorisation is based on the length of your stay and will be held on your card. Any unused funds will be released upon departure. Please be aware that it may take a few days for the funds to reappear in your account, depending on your bank or card provider’s processing times.
A discretionary nightly service charge of €10 will be added to your hotel bill. The service charge is a payment which recognises and rewards all employees for exceeding your expectations, and the entire amount is shared equally between the team. There is absolutely no obligation to pay this, and you may wish to wait until check-out to decide. If you’d prefer to opt out in advance, you’re welcome to let us know at any time, whether before arrival, at check-in, or during your stay.
A discretionary charitable donation of €1 will be included in your final invoice. Red Carnation Hotels matches all donations euro for euro and all monies raised are split between three charities: Pancreatic Cancer Ireland, Mayo Roscommon Hospice, and the Crossroads Community Centre. We respect you may wish to support other charitable organisations, and if this is the case, please ask for the charge to be removed from your account.
