The Lodge at Ashford Castle is designed with families in mind, providing luxurious guest bedrooms and welcoming facilities for parents with children of all ages. Our services include a host of family friendly features to make sure everyone feels truly at home, and leaves with unforgettable memories. Dive into the dedicated splash pool at Éalú, the latest addition to the Ashford Estate. Try a range of different activities that can be enjoyed as a family - the choice is vast - from cycling to fishing and falconry to horse riding, there is plenty to keep you occupied!

Memories to last a lifetime

An exceptional experience awaits families, and if staying in a suite or family room, children under 12 stay for free. You will receive the VIP treatment from the moment you arrive with a warm Irish welcome from our wonderful team and a number of family focused services.

For children under the age of eight, our Family Suites are set up with a cosy cotton teepee and a selection of Moulin Roty toys, inviting little ones to reconnect, play and learn together. We have carefully chosen a collection of beautiful, long-lasting toys from around the world, all loved by us. For older children, enjoy a curated selection of board games, from chess to backgammon, alongside a range of outdoor garden games, offering fun for all.

Room for the whole family

We understand that staying with the family needs to accommodate everyone’s needs so we offer flexible options to suit you. If you want to keep all the family together, but still have separate bedrooms, we have adjoining bedrooms to create your own family hub. Alternatively, a family of three can enjoy a Duplex Suite where we’ll prepare a sofa bed in the downstairs living room, giving your little one room to rest peacefully while you enjoy the privacy of the upstairs bedroom in the suite.

A magical destination

With 350 acres of Irish Estate to explore, there are plenty of hidden adventures just waiting to be discovered. Find the secret folly tower, dubbed 'Rapunzel's Castle', complete all the activities to earn the 'Wolfhounds' Badge, and ask us about the secret map to the fairy paths. Relax and enjoy the fun in our pool at Éalú, or get out and explore the many exhilarating activities on the Estate, from Ireland’s first and finest falconry school to horse-riding and cycling.

At The Lodge we make meal times fun! We understand that sometimes eating in a restaurant with little ones can be a challenge, so we do our utmost to accommodate the needs of the whole family, from adaptable seating to special cutlery and thoughtfully designed children’s menus available in The Quay Bar and Wilde's Restaurant.
